Course Materials Return Policies


The Davidson College Store supports the educational experience by providing all course materials and related resources necessary for students, faculty, and staff in a financially responsible manner. Additionally, the College Store provides a wide variety of high-quality college insignia merchandise for all interested college customers that promotes the college name and image beyond the confines of campus. While providing these products, the College Store strives to give the best possible service to all customers. In some instances, a customer may seek to return an item he or she purchased.


This policy authorizes the College Store to accept eligible course materials in exchange for a full refund. It informs customers of the manner in which this transaction may occur.


Full refund/credit for course materials will be given during the first two weeks of the semester. Course materials are eligible for return only if they are in the same condition as originally purchased except in the case of publisher defect. Refunds must be accompanied by cash register sales receipt. Refunds shall be made as tendered (cash for cash or check purchase, credit for credit or CatCard purchase).

Administration of Policy

The College Store Manager shall oversee this policy and review it at least once every two years. Changes to this policy shall be made in accordance with the college's Policy on Policies. Customer appeal of any decision with regard to this policy may be made to the College Store Manager.
