Where’s WALT? by Greg Maurer and Robert McSweeney

Why isn’t the radio station bigger here at Davidson? WALT is stuck between the neglect of the student body and the neglect of the administration. Students don’t listen to the station because there aren’t enough DJ’s and the signal is shitty; students don’t DJ for the station because there aren’t enough listeners and the signal is shitty.

A WALT Diagnosis
by Matt Greene

The “downfall” of WALT results from an utter lack of interest on the part of the student body. I would never place blame on any past member of the station’s staff because, in my four years at Davidson, I saw a lot of people put a lot of effort into publicity, quality improvement, and recruiting of DJs.

(James) I think we need WALT on campus as it represents the personality of the student body at Davidson. WDAV does not represent the student body here, and I think we would be swamped with requests and shows if we were able to afford an FM signal or an Internet broadcast.
