Davidson Fall Open 1
Each division sailed 5 races in breeze from 2 to 12 knots. Lindsay O’Nell(’97) and Graham Ernst(’97) sailed in A division while Lauren Wilson(’99) and Brice Ivy(’98) captured straight bullets in B division.

Davidson Fall Open 2
The Davidson Fall Open 2 was redesigned as a sparring event between Duke University and Davidson. It was not scored but the regatta proved to be helpful practice and good fun. Duke sailed three boats and Davidson sailed three boats in breeze from 8 - 15 knots.

Each division sailed 5 races in breeze from 1 to 7 knots. Steinen Gerla(’98) and Barclay McFadden(’00) sailed for Davidson in B division while Griffin Rankin(’00) and Brice Ivy(’98) sailed in A division. Both teams took third overall in their own divisions.

Schell Trophy
Each division sailed 18 races in all types of conditions. Saturday was light and shifty with breeze from 5-15 knots. Sunday was cold and definitely breezy, winds from 15 to 25 knots, gusts above 25 knots. At the close of the first day of racing, Davidson was in 15th place, finishing ahead of the Univ. of Wisconsin, Columbia, and Princeton. Due to heavy wind and chilling cold, Davidson sailed only 2 of the 9 races held on Sunday, causing a hefty penalty in overall scoring. Our B division sailors Steinen Gerla(’98) and Barclay McFadden(’00) had an amazing 4th place finish in race 5 while Griffin Rankin(’00) and Brice Ivy(’98), sailing in A division, had a 9th place finish in race 5.

SAISA Fall Dinghy Championships
Each division sailed 8 races in shifty breeze ranging from 5 to 15 knots. Sailing in A division, Lindsay O’Nell(’97) and Graham Ernst(’97) captured a 1st place finish in race 6. Sailing in B division, Will Beasley(’00) and Brice Ivy(’98) captured a 2nd place finish in race 3. Kudos to the entire club for making this our best district championships ever!
