Athletics Done Right – The Next Step
Part of an overarching athletics strategic foundation for Davidson College Athletics, 'Athletics Done Right - The Next Step' is an innovative, collaborative project to better serve Davidson’s exceptional scholar-athletes, the entire campus and the greater community.
Athletics Done Right - The Next Step will also allow the Wildcats to become more competitive within the Division I landscape and recruit outstanding talent from across the country and around the world.
Fundraising will continue until financial commitments from alums, families, friends and partners cover the full cost of the project. The new plans include:
- A new stadium, to be built adjacent to the field hockey facilities on Ridge Road, will be home to the Wildcat football and lacrosse teams.
- The accompanying fieldhouse will feature a hospitality and classroom space; a sports performance center; increased capacity for lectures, events and conferences; a cardio fitness and wellness space; and more.
- The current stadium will become a new track and field complex, with all running events, jumping events and throwing events in one venue; locker room facilities for women’s and men’s track and field; and spectator seating for 5,000.
Construction will begin summer 2022 and is expected to take up to two years. Parking accommodations and newly paved spaces will result in zero lost parking spaces during construction.
