Clint Smith '10 Poetry Reading

The English Department welcomes Clint Smith '10 for a poetry reading, which follows the presentation of the 2017-2018 Student Creative and Scholarly Writing Awards.

Clint Smith is a doctoral candidate at Harvard University and has received fellowships from Cave Canem, the Callahoo Creative Writing Workshop, and the National Science Foundation. He is a 2014 National Poetry Slam champion and his writing has been published in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Guardian, the New Republic, the American Poetry Review, and elsewhere. He is the author of Counting Descent (2016), which won the 2017 Literary Award for Best Poetry Book from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association and was finalist for an NCAAP Image Award.  He was born and raised in New Orleans.

Poetry Reading is free and open to the public. No tickets required.
