Student Organizations

Davidson provides a supportive environment in which individuals can explore interests, share experiences, and learn from each other. To that end, the college supports a number of student-led organizations that promote advocacy and acceptance of its students, faculty, and staff as well as members of the greater community.

1972 is Davidson's women's action organization focused on fostering conversations and efforts surrounding issues of gender expression and those that primarily affect women both on campus and in the larger global community.

Queers & Allies (Q&A)

Queers & Allies includes students, faculty, and staff, and represents members of the Davidson community who identify themselves as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (GLBTQ), along with straight allies. The group advocates for increased awareness and acceptance of GLBTQ issues and aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for all GLBTQ individuals in the school community.

Queer Mentorship Program

The Queer Mentorship Program pairs incoming First Year Students with Queer Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Davidson College Students. We recognize that the transition to college is a hard time, especially so for Queer and/or Questioning First Year students. It is our hope that with a mentor to help assist and guide you through your acclimation to Davidson College we foster a more welcoming community at Davidson College.

Women's Leadership Conference Planning Committee

The Women's Leadership Conference Planning Committee works to provide women in the college and the community with tools to become better leaders and with opportunities to share their experiences as women. The group also plans the annual Women's Leadership Conference.
