As an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, I have an interest in a wide variety of musical styles. I hold master's degrees in classical guitar performance from Illinois State University, and in Appalachian studies from Appalachian State, where I focused my research on Doc Watson. While I enjoy playing the guitar and banjo, the mandolin is my primary instrument of choice and am equally comfortable playing classical, jazz, bluegrass, or old time music. Besides working as a free-lance musician, I manage the Music Library at Davidson College.
