B.M. DePaul University
I joined the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra as Principal Bass Trombone in September 2014. Prior to joining the CSO, I was the bass trombonist of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. I graduated summa cum laude with honors from DePaul University, where I received my B.M. in Music Performance studying with Charlie Vernon of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Mark Fisher of the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra. I have been the bass trombone fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and Music Academy of the West and have also been a member of the National Repertory Orchestra as well as attending Bar Harbor Brass Week. I won the International Trombone Association's Edward Kleinhammer Orchestral Bass Trombone Competition and the Donald Yaxley Bass Trombone Competition. I was also a medal winner at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition as a member of the brass quintet Lincoln Chamber Brass. I have had the pleasure of performing in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Symphony Orchestra as well as contemporary music group Ensemble Dal Niente. I began teaching at Davidson College in September 2015 and also maintain a private teaching studio in Charlotte as well as coaching the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra.
