Live Author Podcast!

During the Saturday Back-to-School block a panel of authors from the Class of 1979 will participate in a live podcast where they will share writing experiences in a session titled "A Literary Event with your Davidson Author Classmates." Moderated by Landis Wade, host of Charlotte Readers Podcast, panelists will read from and discuss their work and all things writing, including the inspiration for and the joys and challenges of their craft. All readers, authors and would-be authors are welcome.

Reunion Weekend Pricing

Class Gift

We hope you will consider making a gift in honor of our 40th Reunion. We have set a participation goal of 70 percent. A gift that is significant to you, is significant to us.

Class Scholarship
In addition to the participation goal, the Class of 1979 is also excited to announce that we are very close to meeting our goal of $1 million raised for the Class of 1979 Scholarship established at our 35th Reunion in 2014—we are $150,000 away from reaching that goal! If we can raise this additional $150,000 prior to June 5, we will be able to claim a $150,000 match to reach the $1 million goal.

Our objective is for the scholarship to grow in its impact so that we can award four (4) annual $10,000 scholarships (one for a student in each class) and continue to support one experiential learning opportunity through a $5,000 internship stipend for each scholarship recipient ($40,000 + $5,000= $45,000/annually). We look forward to introducing you to Ryan Samuels ’17, our first Class of 1979 Scholarship recipient over Reunion Weekend.

Please consider making a commitment for the next five years to coincide with our 40th Reunion—whether to the Class of 1979 Scholarship or to an area of campus that is most meaningful to you. We hope as many classmates as possible take part in helping our class accomplish these goals. We will celebrate gifts and commitments to all areas of campus when we come together in June.

All gifts and multi-year commitments made during the reunion year will also count for the current Game Changers campaign, which ends on June 30, 2019.
