Bring your kids along! Reunion Weekend is structured with families in mind. There will be plenty of on-campus activities that will appeal to both children and teens.
Reunion Weekend 2018 information is below. Check back in early spring for Reunion Weekend 2019.
Children and teens 4-14 must be registered in order to be accounted for during the weekend. Be sure to note the Kids Activities options on the registration form, as well as the sign-up for Camp Reunion. Kids ages 0-4 do not need to register and may attend events for free.
While children and teens are welcome at most events throughout the weekend it is not encouraged to bring them to class dinners.
The following options are available on the registration form for children and teens 4-14:
For children and teens who will attend most or all of the events for the weekend we recommend purchasing a Kids Package. It includes most events with meals for the weekend (BBQ Dinner, Saturday Breakfast, Saturday Picnic and Lawn Party and Sunday Farewell Brunch). It does not include the class dinner or Camp Reunion.
This event is built with families in mind and is a great option for those looking to bring children and teens but not have them on campus all weekend.
For those with children and teens ages 0-14, we are pleased to offer Camp Reunion at the Lake Norman YMCA (21300 Davidson Street, Cornelius) on Friday (6-10 p.m.) and Saturday (6:30-10:30 p.m.) evenings. The YMCA is approximately 1.4 miles from the Davidson campus and offers age-appropriate facilities, staff and resources. Kids ages 0-14 will enjoy games, crafts, time in the gym, swimming and a movie. If you would like your child or teenager to participate, sign-up when you complete your Reunion Weekend registration. Pre-registration is encouraged in order to maintain a safe adult-to-child ratio. There is limited space for walk-up registrations, so be sure to register your child with your overall Reunion weekend registration.
The YMCA is a separate and independent organization, and is responsible for and manages its own activities, including Camp Reunion. Davidson is not directing, supervising, or controlling the Camp Reunion program hosted by the YMCA, and as such Davidson is not responsible for the YMCA's acts or omissions. Parents will need to complete a registration and waiver form upon arrival at the YMCA.
The price is $30/child/night, including dinner. Please note any dietary restrictions on the registration form. Transportation is not provided.
A list of recommended Davidson community members will be available to alumni interested in hiring a babysitter during Reunion Weekend. To request a list, please email firstname.lastname@example.org closer to Reunion Weekend. All questions regarding scheduling, availability and payment should be made directly with the babysitter. Please note the college does not provide training or supervision of the babysitters nor has it performed background checks on the babysitters listed.
Davidson does not own any equipment or materials for children such as high chairs, cribs and diapers. Please make arrangements for anything you may need prior to your arrival. Email us at email@example.com if you have questions.
