The Avinger Entrepreneurial Scholarship, established in honor of Robert L. Avinger, Jr., a member of the Davidson Class of 1960 and Professor of Economics from 1967-1980, identifies and rewards outstanding students who show the vision, qualities and passions of a true entrepreneur and who demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, giving evidence of creativity and energy that will lead to future success in either business or civic engagement.
Avinger Scholars receive $10,000 annually and benefit from an on-going relationship with Avinger and mentoring opportunities with members of the Avinger Scholarship Advisory Team.
Avinger Scholars' award funds can be applied directly to the cost of attendance at Davidson or Scholars may submit proposals for funding of any of the following:
Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors at Davidson receive emailed invitations to submit Avinger Entrepreneurial Scholarship applications giving evidence of their entrepreneurial experience and success, plus their goals and strategies for future enterprises.
