Mike Branch - Reading - "How to Cuss in Western"

Mike Branch is the author of eight books and over 150 articles and essays. His work is both scholarly, focusing on ecocriticism, nature writing, and 19th-century US authors, and creative, focusing on the environment where he lives, the high desert of Nevada. Branch will read from his newest creative nonfiction collection, How to Cuss in Western, which combines detailed observations of the natural environment with humor and musings on family, region, and place. This new work continues the tradition he began in two previous collections, Raising Wild and Rants from the Hill. Beneath the surface of his trademark humor lies an important message about appreciating one’s local environment and doing everything possible to save and preserve wild places and the cultures they have inspired.
