May 11: COVID Update

Message to the Davidson College community from the Core COVID Response Team:

Thank you. We are extraordinarily grateful for your help this year in managing COVID on campus and keeping our case numbers down. Whether wearing a mask, staying home when you had possible symptoms, avoiding crowds or any step you took to protect each other–our community is in your debt.

Seniors, please take extra care over the next four days. We want to see you on the front lawn of Chambers on Sunday. If you test positive for COVID between now and then, you will not be able to attend or participate in graduation.

Masks–particularly in indoor spaces–along with distance and handwashing remain your best defense.

Cases

We have 15 active cases among students.

Testing

Students can test on demand. You don’t need to call first. You can go to Student Health and Well-Being Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. On weekends, students can test from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Tomlinson Hall conference room. Employees covered through Davidson’s health insurance plans are eligible for eight free at-home tests per month. Please refer to this information on Inside Davidson or reach out to HR at 704-894-2213 if you have questions. Any employee who tests positive for COVID should call HR at 704-894-2020.

This will be the last COVID update of the 2021-2022 academic year.
