Librarians at Davidson are dedicated to supporting  your teaching in a variety of ways. We are available as resources for your classes, students and independent research projects.

Custom Course Guides

Course Guides and Webpages

At your request, we can prepare custom-designed guides and webpages for a specific assignment or for a series of assignments. Guides can be produced in Web, PDF, or paper formats. In addition, the librarians can update these guides each semester so that you can be sure that you have the most current information about available resources and services. Contact Cara Evanson at or 704-894-2152 for more information about this service.

Support for Course Pages and Moodle

We can help you develop your course pages in Moodle. We can provide you with guides that you can upload, links to library resources, and more. If you wish, we can also participate in discussion boards and answer students' questions about research. Contact Cara Evanson at or 704-894-2152 for more information.

Information Literacy Instruction

The librarians are available to meet with your class and help your students polish their research skills and learn about specific resources and research tools.

Information Literacy Instruction Services

Research Assignment Design

We can assist you with creating or updating assignments that require students to find, select, evaluate, and use information resources. Librarians have a unique perspective; at the information desk and in consultations, we help students identify, locate, and evaluate the resources they need to complete your assignments, so we often know when and where students are having problems.

Not only can we provide you with up-to-date guides and bibliographies, we can also suggest ideas, help you "road test" an assignment before you distribute it, and provide you with feedback later.

For more information, please contact Sara Swanson at or 704-894-2157.
