Morgan Shannon '16 was recognized Thursday for her work in the classroom and on the court, as she was named to the 2014 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.
The recognition is the first such award for Shannon, a biology major who plays defense on the Davidson volleyball team.
Shannon competed in 75 sets over 22 matches this season as libero, and recorded double-digit digs in 15 matches this year, for a total of 282. The Roanoke, Va., native finished the season averaging 3.76 digs per set, which ranks fourth in the conference and 0.56 assists per set.
In order to earn A-10 all-academic credentials, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or important reserve player on their team.
