The first female Rhodes Scholar from Davidson, Elizabeth Kiss ’83 is profiled in the Herald Citizen this week.
Kiss recently announced that after the academic year concludes, she will will end her 12-year tenure as president of Agnes Scott College this summer to become the first woman warden and CEO of the Rhodes Trust.
Kiss’s journey to Davidson and ultimately to Oxford started by accident: She only heard about Davidson after missing the bus in high school. But Kiss has since become a model student and a leader in higher education.
As warden of the Rhodes Trust, she will assume a truly global role.
She says: "Young people coming together, learning together, becoming friends across national boundaries, and being committed to a vision of a more peaceful and more collaborative and more humane world, I think that's so important."
