NPR: Chinese, Taiwanese Leaders to Meet in Singapore

Shelley RiggerThis weekend, Chinese President Xi Jinping will join Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou in Singapore for an historic meeting. Since the end of the Chinese civil war more than 66 years ago, the two sides could be taking a significant step toward what China calls the great goal of national unification. Brown Professor of Political Science Shelley Rigger talks to NPR's Robert Siegel about the timing and potential substance of the meeting.
