Charlotte Observer: Track Athlete, Swimmers Qualify for Olympic Trials

Davidson swimmers Katy Williams ’17 (pictured) and Luke Burton ’16 will compete in the U.S. Olympic trials in Omaha, Neb., June 26-July 3.

It's been an exciting winter for the Wildcats. Erin Osment '15 has qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in the marathon. She posted a time of 1 hour, 14 minutes, 18 seconds during the Jacksonville (Fla.) Bank Half Marathon on Jan. 3. Osment is the third Davidson athlete to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Trials, joining current Wildcat swimmers Katy Williams '17 and Luke Burton '16, and the second Davidson track athlete to become an All-American.

Golfer David Sargent '16 came away from a Dec. 20-22 tournament in Pinehurst with the 2015 Country Club of North Carolina Amateur title. In other news, the volleyball team has signed Elise Edman of San Diego, California, Emily Kane of Dallas, Texas, Emma McLaughlin of Montclair, Virginia, and Josie Treadwell of Los Angeles.
