Classical Public Radio 89.9 WDAV announced today that it will broadcast the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra's "One Charlotte: A Performance for Peace" live from Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center at noon, Friday, Sept. 23. The free community concert is the Charlotte Symphony's response to the tragic events and ongoing unrest that have gripped Charlotte in the past week.
"We know how powerful music is as a force for healing, comfort and inspiration," said Frank Dominguez, WDAV's general manager and content director. "It's a privilege for WDAV to help our community by sharing the Charlotte Symphony's artistry and generosity beyond the walls of the Belk Theatre at this troubled time. On behalf of WDAV I offer thanks for the cooperation of the Charlotte Symphony, the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, our intrepid broadcast and audio engineers, and for the support of Wells Fargo Private Back in enabling us to pursue this ambitious project."
This live broadcast of One Charlotte: A Performance for Peace is made possible by Wells Fargo Private Bank, proud sponsor of WDAV and the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra's Classical Series.
