Email Upgrade Planned for Tues., May 20

ITS is upgrading the campus email system to Exchange 2013. This upgrade will improve performance and email storage quotas. On Tuesday evening, May 20, we will move staff mailboxes to the new server.

We recommend that you log off your computer before leaving for the day on Tuesday. You should experience no changes in the various modes of accessing email – Outlook, Webmail, smartphone, etc.

When you log on to Outlook on Wednesday morning, you may experience one of the following three things:

  • Outlook may ask you to exit and log back on so that it can update your profile. Depending on your configuration, it may do this twice.
  • If you have connections from Outlook to InsideDavidson or stored views of others' calendars, Outlook may ask you for your username and password.
  • An Autodiscover service may ask you to allow it to redirect your connection. You should click "allow" if asked.

In addition, Webmail (Outlook Web App) has an all-new interface, very intuitive and more consistent with that of the full Outlook client. Learn more about the changes to Outlook Web App.
