ALERT: Phishing Email Sent to Campus Community

On Tuesday, March 14, the campus was targeted by an email phishing attack that asked recipients to click on a link. The link attempted to trick Davidson users into sharing their username and password information.

The initiator of the attack impersonated a member of our campus community. However, the message was not legitimate. As a reminder, neither Information Technology Systems (ITS) nor Davidson staff will ever ask you to provide account/password information via email.

Please contact ITS so we can make sure your account has not been compromised, if both of the following apply to you:

  • You received an email with the subject line "Verify it's you" and clicked on the link.
  • ITS has not contacted you in the past 24 hours about this problem.

ITS has deleted most of the malicious emails through automated processes. Please delete any additional copies remaining in your inbox, and do not click on the link.
