An internship or research experience is a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting.

Internships and research give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths; and give employers the opportunity to guide and evaluate talent.

Based on data from the Class of 2017, approximately 72% of Davidson graduates completed at least one internship or guided research experience. The Center for Career Development is a primary campus resource for any student seeking an experiential learning opportunity.

Through Handshake, students also have full access to comprehensive guides for creating application materials and developing interview skills as well as industry specific resources (login required).
