The Farm at Davidson holds a weekly farmers market most Wednesdays throughout the academic year. On market days, the farm offers fresh, naturally grown, local produce to the college community.

Depending on the season, the market could be selling lettuce, spinach, greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, squash, strawberries, beets, carrots, herbs and cut flowers.

This is the first farmers market at the college supplied exclusively by The Farm at Davidson, and is made possible by the increase in farm yields over the past few years. Increased output is due in part to significant student involvement, along with sustainable farming methods, crop rotation and vegetative diversity employed by Farm Manager Joe Rowland (jorowland@davidson.edu). The farm will continue to supply fresh produce to Dining Services throughout the year.

The market reflects the farm's continued efforts to create a collaborative and innovative environment that supports ethics-based agriculture, and furthers its mission of educational and civic engagement.
