As a new hire and then annually during open enrollment in the fall, you have an opportunity to make changes to your benefits package to ensure you and your family have the right coverage.

Medical Insurance Subsidy
Employees with an annual household income below $45,000 may qualify for a subsidy on their health insurance. Eligible employees must complete the adjusted health insurance premiums application and submit it to Human Resources on an annual basis. The health subsidy form needs to be submitted by December 1, to be effective January 1.
Employees who participate in any of the Davidson College health plans are eligible for virtual (telehealth and telemental) appointments via Teladoc.
Health Savings Account (HSA) Only Available With HDHP Medical Plans
Flexible Spending Accounts
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) allow you to pay for eligible health and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars, eliminating federal and state income taxes and FICA tax on these expenses. Davidson College’s FSA program is administered Flores and Associates which offers both Health Care and Dependent Care Spending Accounts. Participants must re-enroll annually to continue the benefit. All benefit-eligible employees are eligible to participate

- Dependent Care Reimbursement Account (FSA)The dependent care flexible spending account can reimburse you for day care expenses provided for your dependent child under the age of 13.
Staff Emergency Medical Fund
Staff employees whose annual pay from the college is $50,000 or less per year can request up to $500 in assistance from the Endowed Staff Medical Emergency Fund (login required) to meet a personal medical need, which they have no HSA, FSA, or HRA funds to cover. Medical expense reimbursements will be on a first‐come / first‐serve basis until the funds are exhausted. Learn more about how you can donate to this fund (login required).
If you have health, vision, dental or a medical FSA, please note that no immediate action is needed. You will receive written information, mailed to your home address, about the option to continue your coverage under COBRA as your separation date draws closer. COVID Home Testing
Employees covered through Davidson’s health insurance plans are eligible for eight free at-home tests per month. Please refer the information on Inside Davidson or reach out to HR at 704-894-2213 if you have questions. Any employee who tests positive for COVID should call HR at 704-894-2020.

As a benefits-eligible Davidson College employee, you have access to this long term care coverage at competitive group rates. Coverage under this program is portable, so it can move with you if you change jobs, retire or leave Davidson.
Employees can elect Allstate insurance to take advantage of a comprehensive identity protection plan.
