Liberal Arts @Work: Senior Career Summit

Are you senior working on your post-Davidson opportunity search? Do you want to know how to start preparing for the next step in your college-to-career journey?

Register online before February 28 at 11:59 p.m., for the Liberal Arts @Work Summit (space is limited to 200 attendees).

The summit is a personal and professional development initiative. You will have the opportunity to participate in a series of breakout sessions throughout the day, based on your interests. As a participant you will learn about yourself, how to continue your strategic search for post-Davidson opportunities, how to effectively network and how to start building professional skills like personal budget management, networking, and curating a professional wardrobe.

Schedule & Location

  • Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Brown Atrium, Alvarez College Union
  • Lunch and refreshments will be provided

Summit Structure

All students will participate in the following:

  • Opening keynote session
  • Three breakout sessions of your choosing
  • Closing conversation & send-off

  • Financial Literacy 101: How to Build a Budget & Make Financially Savvy Decisions
  • Fall into the Gap: A Job Search Strategies Refresh
  • Dress for Success: Building a Professional Wardrobe on a Budget
  • Linking In to the Alumni Network: How to Stay Connected & Build Your Network After Graduation
  • Why You Won't Have JSTOR When You Graduate & What You Can Do About It
  • On Feedback: How to Give & Receive Constructive Feedback in the Workplace

Registration, Selection Process & Cost

If you are a current senior and would like to register for the Liberal Arts @Work: Senior Summit, follow the following steps:

  • Access the online registration form.
  • Complete the registration form by Feb. 28 at 11:59 p.m., including acknowledgement of the no-show/late cancellation fee.
  • Students selected to participate will be notified via email by Saturday, March 5, 2016.

A detailed itinerary will be provided at check-in on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Participants will complete an experience survey and reflection following the summit. Business casual or business attire is suggested.
