Academics, Advising and Initial Course Registration

Welcome new Wildcats! On these pages you will find information about academics, advising and initial course registration.

Where to Start

To prepare for the new academic year you should do the following this summer.

Many colleges allow upper-class students to select all of their courses before first-year or transfer students have a chance to register for any. We are very proud of the fact that the student-designed WebTree initial course registration process allows for each student to get one course before any student gets a second course. WebTree is a lottery system based upon your preferences that uses an if-then logic to process.

The How to Use WebTree video does the best job explaining how to complete your WebTree, but if you have questions you can always email

Ask for Help

Don't be afraid to ask questions. There is no way you are expected to know everything. You shouldn't feel intimidated to walk into an office on campus or to ask a faculty member for help. We are here to assist you and help you to succeed.

We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to having you on campus in the fall.
