In addition to the wide array of employee wellness classes we offer at set times, employees can work independently, with access to campus gyms, facilities and equipment for health and fitness.
The center is located on the first floor of the Alvarez College Union and has aerobic step and treadmill machines, weight stations and free weights for use by students, faculty and staff members. A glass wall in the fitness center opens onto the climbing wall for Davidson Outdoors, which occupies the lowest level of the building and offers students, faculty, and staff a variety of outdoor activities and courses throughout the year.
The Baker Sports Complex, completed in 1989, houses all of Davidson's indoor athletic facilities, including the John M. Belk Arena, Knobloch Tennis Center and Cannon Pool. It is also the home of the Physical Education, Recreation and Wellness Department.
Employees are welcome to use the Cannon Pool during open swim times
Indoor and outdoor courts are available and free for Davidson College students, staff and faculty. The outdoor courts are available when not in use by the varsity and the club tennis teams. The indoor courts are open during Baker Sports Complex operating hours and are available when not being used by varsity or club tennis teams.
This 400-meter, eight-lane track is built to international standards and is located in Richardson Stadium. Employees are free to use it whenever it is not in use by teams.
Located seven miles from campus, the lake campus has 110 acres of waterfront property, perfect for water activities and other recreation. Employees have access to lake campus during regular hours.
