Dee Vega Adjunct Professor of Chemistry
Education
- B.A., B.S., M.S. University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Background
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) in 2013 with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. I continued my education at UNCC, earning my master’s degree in 2015. I worked in a lab under the direction of Juan Vivero-Escoto. Our research utilized novel hybrid inorganic-organic nanomaterials for applications in biomedicine.
Before coming to Davidson College, I was a quality manager for a contract chemical manufacturer. My responsibilities were to ensure the quality system was compliant with ISO:9001. Day-to-day operations for the quality control laboratory were under my supervision. I held an Adjunct Faculty position a UNCC providing instruction to students for general and organic chemistry labs.
Continuing my journey at Davidson College allows me the opportunity to interact with faculty and students. My multitudinous skillset will be employed to provide a pleasant experience. I enjoy the atmosphere and great group of people I get to work with. I am excited to be part of the Davidson College family.
