Background

I am originally from Trinidad and my research examines representations of the South Asian diaspora in French Caribbean and Indian Ocean literatures.

I integrate modern technology into my classes to introduce students to innovative and exciting ways of using French. I am always very eager to expose students to the rich diversity of the French-speaking world, which moves beyond the borders of France and stretches to countries in Africa and the Americas, Caribbean, and Indian and Pacific Oceans. It is my hope that students leave my class with new perspectives on culture, greater confidence in their ability to communicate, and more nuanced, enlarged sense of the world and the place of French in it.

Prior to joining Davidson College, I have had the privilege of teaching language, literature and culture courses at Florida State University and University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
