Background

As the Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Residence Life, I serve as the senior housing officer (SHO) responsible for the department's vision, leadership, development, and strategic direction. Within the Residence Life Office (RLO), I work with excellent professional, para-professional, and student leaders to develop the student housing and residential living needs of the student residential experience. As a dean of students leadership team member, I support divisional initiatives regarding student development, support, and conduct. Additionally, I collaborate with divisional and institutional partners on college-related business.

More About Me

With more than twenty years of experience in student affairs, I work with the community in various areas, including housing and residence life, student conduct, crisis management, conflict resolution, fraternity and sorority life, and diversity, equity and inclusion. My education and experiences guide my approach to leadership, supervision, and staff development. They aid in my desire to connect with people in their distinctive experiences, communicate with individuals respecting their language, and assist in crisis response situations by properly evaluating actual needs. I desire to meet people at their developmental levels and aid in their continued growth. I challenge, advise, mentor and support people on and off-campus through their life transitions. As a leader, it is essential to understand that people are on their journeys.
