Counseling Center Staff

The counseling center staff includes five licensed professionals who see students at the Student Health and Counseling Center by appointment. While each counselor is qualified to address a variety of concerns, each also has a specific area of interest and expertise.

Trish Murray

Trish Murray, Ph.D.
Director, Counselor

I am a licensed professional counselor supervisor and an approved clinical supervisor. My clinical interests include college student development, life transitions, family of origin issues, mood disorders and supervision.

John Brunelle

John Brunelle, Ph.D.
Counselor, Psychologist

I am a licensed psychologist in North Carolina. My clinical interests include working with student athletes, issues related to grief and loss, group counseling and college student development.

David Graham

Counselor, Coordinator for Inclusion and Diversity Outreach

I am a licensed professional counselor Supervisor (LPCS). My clinical interests include identity development, working with students from traditionally marginalized and oppressed identities, relationships issues, trauma, and mindfulness.

Joanna Karibean

Joanna Karibian, MA, LCSW
Substance Use and Abuse Specialist, Counselor

I am the counselor/coordinator for substance abuse outreach. I earned a Masters of Social Work from NYU in New York. My clinical interests are substance use, autism spectrum disorder, issues related to grief and loss and group counseling.

I am a licensed psychologist in West Virginia and a licensed psychological associate in North Carolina. My clinical interests include eating disorders, body image concerns, mood disorders, and relationship issues.
