As one of the region's finest performance venues, the Duke Family Performance Hall (DFPH) has quickly become a popular cultural resource for the Charlotte Metro area. The 600+ seat proscenium theatre is housed within the Knobloch Campus Center in the Alvarez College Union, creating a seamless relationship between academics, art, entertainment, and college community life. The entrance to the performance hall is located on the atrium level (second floor) of the campus center.
The Rupert T. Barber Theatre is an intimate, flexible, performance space located within Cunningham. Able to seat 175, productions in the Barber can be configured in a variety of stage set-ups which, in combination with modern lighting and state-of-the-art sound systems, make audience members feel like part of the production.
Doors open approximately 30 minutes before curtain time. Tickets are general admission. As a courtesy to performers and audience members, latecomers will not be seated until a suitable pause in the performance.
Cameras and recorders of any kind are not allowed in the DFPH. Cell phones and beepers must be silenced or turned off. No text messaging please, as it is distracting to fellow audience members.
Parents should exercise discretion in deciding which events are appropriate for their children. Our policy is to inform audiences about content, but parents, guardians and teachers should make decisions that they feel are most appropriate for the youth in their care. If you have any questions about content, age-appropriateness or stage effects (such as strobe lights or theatrical fog), please call the box office at 704-894-2135. .
All ticket discounts must be taken at the time of purchase, and discounts cannot be combined. Refunds are not offered except in the case of a cancelled performance.
