Background

I oversee the Academic Access and Disability Resources(AADR) Office as we develop policies related to disability resources that ensure equal access. I also participate in various committees related to student support, including the Classroom Design Committee and the Student of Concern Committee.

My approach to working in higher education is to be student-centered because I believe it is important to support each student's personal goals and the pathways they want to take with their education. In my current role, I specifically support students with disabilities and provide academic support to any student who wants to improve their academic strategies. I engage students in individual meetings and coaching sessions, and I also speak to larger groups of students regarding academic resources and strategies.

After graduate school, my career in higher education began at my alma mater, Juniata College, as a Division III head men's and women's tennis coach and assistant women's soccer coach. I loved working with students, but I later realized it was the academic environment in which I most wanted to support them. I became an academic counselor, director of disability services, and then acting director of academic support services for Juniata before coming to Davidson College.
