Angela Cools Assistant Professor of Economics

I teach courses in gender economics and introductory economics. My research examines the links between gender, labor markets and civic participation. Two of my recent papers explore the impacts of siblings and peers on women’s educational attainment and earnings. I also have work exploring how labor market experiences affect voter turnout.

Raised in Michigan, I received a B.A. in Economics from Pomona College. I then worked for Disney Consumer Products and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston before receiving my Ph.D. from Cornell.
