Campus Emergency Exercise Today - May 28, 2015

On Thursday, May 28, Davidson College will conduct a full-scale campus emergency exercise in conjunction with Davidson Police, Davidson Fire Department, Cornelius Fire Department, Mount Mourne Fire Department and Mooresville Fire Department.

The event will occur on the main campus area, and the college asks that the general public avoid the area as much as possible from 9 a.m. until noon. The event will include the presence of emergency vehicles, equipment and personnel.

The exercise is part of regular emergency preparedness activities the college performs every year.

Davidson Singers

Members of Davidson SingersAn auditioned mixed vocal ensemble for experienced or novice choristers interested in learning more about the art of choral singing. Davidson Singers join the Choral Arts Society for their weekly Monday night rehearsals. Additionally, they rehearse one hour separately from the Choral Society each week. Concert engagements include a bi-annual performance with the Choral Arts Society and appearances in other campus concerts and functions.


  • Davidson Singers join the Choral Arts Society for rehearsals on Mondays from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Separate rehearsals TBA.


  • Auditions held the first week of every semester.
  • New and returning choir members should audition every semester.

    • vocalises
    • pitch matching
    • vocal flexibility exercises
    • sight-reading exercises

Audition sign-up sheets are posted outside Professor Gilliam's office in Sloan 102, and will also be available at the college's activities fair each fall.
