Multicultural Visitation Program

Davidson will host its annual fall Multicultural Visitation Program (MVP) in conjunction with Discover Davidson II, October 19-21, 2013. Students will arrive Saturday afternoon for an overnight stay in a local hotel before the Discover Davidson II program slated for Sunday, Oct. 20. Their second night will be spent on campus with an overnight host. Visiting students will attend classes Monday morning and should plan to return home that afternoon.

Davidson's MVP is designed to support students from traditionally under-represented groups on campus; African American, Asian American, Hispanic, and Native American students; and QuestBridge qualified students. Due to the brevity of the visit, international students or students living outside of the United States are not eligible for consideration. Only students who have not been on an official visit will be selected for the program.

To apply for the program, students must complete the following steps:

  • Submit completed fly-in application.
  • Upload a complete transcript with Senior Schedule.
  • Upload a copy of standardized test scores.
  • Complete Davidson Part 1 admission application.

Davidson College will cover the direct expenses associated with a visit to campus for the student and one adult guest (parent/guardian/counselor). This will include airfare to and from the student's home airport and Charlotte, ground transportation to and from campus, meals during the visit, overnight accommodations for student and guest. The Admission Team will review submitted applications and notify students if additional information is required. Priority deadline for application submission is Monday, Sept. 2. The final deadline is Friday, Sept. 20. Decisions will be communicated no later than Friday, Sept. 27.

Students should not register for Discover Davidson if they have been selected for the fly-in. We will coordinate registration on their behalf. Please know that space is limited. We will select approximately 35 students to participate. If a student accepts our invitation to visit and then chooses to cancel after air travel tickets have been purchased, the student and their family will be responsible for reimbursing the school the cost of the ticket.
