"TechXpo" Career Exploration Symposium

The Davidson community will not want to miss the inaugural "TechXpo" Career Exploration Symposium hosted by the Mathematics and Computer Science Department and the Center for Career Development on October 19.

Join us for a day of career exploration conversations, interactive breakout workshops and networking opportunities with key employers and graduate/professional schools in the fields of analytics, business, engineering, math and technology. Designed to be an immersive experience for all attendees, you'll have the opportunity to learn about industry trends, explore new technology and develop key skills that are highly relevant to every industry!

Career Exploration Fair - 2-4 p.m.
Opportunity to learn about the industry and career opportunities with 20 high-impact and industry-leading employers and graduate/professional schools. Visit 10 or more booths and you're eligible for a professional gift.

Breakout Sessions - 2:30-4 p.m.
Interactive workshops with select key employers, educating students on various projects or teaching relevant skills. Attend one or multiple sessions to maximize your experience.

    1. Red Ventures Mini Case Competition - 2:30-4 p.m. (competition winner(s) to be announced during the Networking Hour)
    2. Red Ventures Excel Bootcamp - 2:30-3 p.m. (upskill in critical Excel modeling basics, essential to every employer in every industry)
    3. Dispelling the Myths of Technology Panel - 3-3:45 p.m. (panelists include Chad Barnes '09, EY; Erika Dean '05, Outbrain; Nick Carter '15, Red Ventures; Sophia Smith '16, IBM)

    Networking Hour - 4-5 p.m.
    Hosted by Dan Feldstein, CMO and co-founder at Red Ventures, this is an opportunity for employers, graduate/professional schools, faculty, staff, alumni and students to connect over drinks and hors d'oeuvres to continue the conversations from earlier in the day. Winner(s) of the Red Ventures Case Competition will be announced.
