Restoring the Restoration: Why Notre-Dame Cathedral Looks The Way It Does

 About the Speaker

Carole Kruger is Professor of French and Francophone Studies at Davidson College. A specialist of nineteenth-century French literature by training, she has had the opportunity to lead the Davidson in France study abroad program a half dozen times. As luck would have it, two of those abroad trips placed Dr. Kruger in France on the evening the cathedral burned, and again on the night of the dramatic reopening ceremony. She has followed the reconstruction and restoration efforts with great interest, and will be sharing her take on recent developments.
