Bangladeshi American poet Tarfia Faizullah grew up in Midland, Texas. She earned an MFA from the Virginia Commonwealth University program in creative writing. She is the author of Seam (2014) and Registers of Illuminated Villages (Graywolf Press, 2018). A Kundiman fellow, she lives in Detroit where she teaches at the University of Michigan and is an editor for the Asian American Literary Review and Organic Weapon Arts Chapbook Series. She is currently a visiting artist in residence at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
