Scholar Athletes. And We Mean It.
Athletics is an integrated part of education at Davidson, not an addendum to it. More than 80% of our students are active in intramural, club, or varsity sports, and one in four play in Division I. Coaches are educators from whom student-athletes learn how to lead and to collaborate. They learn how to adjust and attack problems differently. Most of all, they learn that teamwork triumphs over individual talent, which pays off on the field, in the classroom, and beyond Davidson. Our scholar-athletes post a graduation rate of 91%, making us a leader among Division I institutions.

It means that our students are true scholar-athletes and that our coaches and administrators are educators. It means we have a distinct advantage, especially amongst Davidson’s peers in higher education, participating at the Division I level.
