Creative Placemaking as Cultural Justice

A Humanities Panel Presented by the Mulliss Center for Civic Engagement and the Humanities Program

Please join us for a panel discussion featuring four speakers whose work engages creative placemaking as a form of cultural justice:

Dr. Anita Bateman, Vice President of Creative Direction, Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture
Allen Compton, Founder and Principal, SALT Landscape Architects
Todd Stewart, Vice President of Public Art, Arts & Science Council
Dr. Yao-Fen You, Acting Director, Asian Pacific American Center, Smithsonian Institution

This conversation will consider cultural justice both as access to the spaces, resources, and support necessary for creative work and cultural gathering, and as the power to shape and participate in the making of historical and cultural narratives.
