Slavery, Violence, and the Archive - Keynote Address

The Africana Studies Department presents: Slavery, Violence and The Archive, a two-day conference taking place Feb. 22-23. The event is sponsored by the Davidson College Commission on Race and Slavery.

Saturday's keynote address will be delivered by Marisa Fuentes, “Refuse Bodies, Disposable Lives: A History of the Human and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.” Fuentes is the is the Presidential Term Chair in African American History and Associate Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and History at Rutgers University—New Brunswick.
