Sarah Booker, mezzo-soprano
Sarah Booker is a Classical Studies Major and Music Minor from Hillsborough, North Carolina, and was the recipient of the Donald B. Plott Scholarship as an incoming freshman. Her senior recital is a culmination of four years of voice study in Davidson College’s music department under the tutelage of Jacquelyn Culpepper, Ilana Lubitsch, and Dr. Tomasz Robak. Sarah also studied traditional Appalachian music with ballad singer Donna Ray Norton for a class project about the music of Southern Appalachia. Joining Sarah on stage will be Jon Hill, an active performer of traditional music, a member of Davidson’s Appalachian Ensemble, and our music librarian.
Themed around love, whimsy, nature, a bit of dramatic flair, and the enjoyment of being alive, this recital is not to be missed!
Free and open to the public. Tickets are not required.
