Traditional Series: Skye Consort

Skye Consort is a mesmerizing Canadian folk quartet, performing on many traditional instruments, including the 16-string Scandinavian nyckelharpa. The ensemble can be thought of as an international contemporary string band, with violin, cello, fiddle, bouzouki, and bass being the dominant instruments. Emma Björling, the lead singer, is of Norwegian and Swedish descent, giving the ensemble a repertoire that spans Scandinavia, Ireland and the British Isles, and French Canada.
