Organ at Davidson

Join David Brinson for a mini-recital, lecture, and organ crawl tracing the organ’s remarkable journey through four centuries of music. From the intricate textures of the Renaissance and the colors of the French Classic tradition, through the grandeur of the Baroque and the warmth of the Romantic era, to the vivid sounds of the twentieth century, this program celebrates the many voices of the “king of instruments.” With time for questions throughout, the program concludes with an opportunity to step inside the organ for an up-close look at the instrument’s bellows, chests, and pipes.
