"I came from an incredibly homogenous background where I was surrounded by students from similar walks of life as immigrant children. When I toured Davidson, I was worried that I’d feel left out at a Predominantly White Institution, but in my first year here I’ve learned that Davidson is the most diverse and welcoming community I've ever been a part of. The students here have been so welcoming and kind, and I’ve met the best friends, mentors, and professors. In a school of 2000, instead of competing at each others expense, a majority seek to help one another at every turn and it’s what has made me so deeply invested in our community."
Underrated Detail About Davidson
All of the support systems on campus! I didn't tour Davidson before I committed and was really unfamiliar with all our student programs here.
Transition to Davidson
Pre-orientation programs are amazing!! I was a part of the Humanities course my first year and before orientation began, we spent three days in the North Carolina mountains. It was really nice to meet people early, especially ones that will be in my classes. My friends that did programs like Outdoor/Service Odyssey, or STRIDE have said similar things.
