"As a senior in high school, I was extremely burnt out. In fact, I told my mom I didn't want to attend college. After spending four years doing nothing but homework, I was terrified of going to higher education, which everyone insisted would be even more rigorous. But when I toured Davidson, I didn't see miserable looking students bound to piles of homework. I saw groups of people laughing together while writing on white boards, students reading textbooks on Chambers lawn, and my tour guide saying hi to just about every person we passed by. Davidson has excellent academics and gives you a rigorous education. But it doesn't take away your life. Our community is what makes this school so unique; you are able to participate in twenty different activities and maintain a robust social life while getting a top-tier education. I chose Davidson because I could envision myself existing as a multifaceted person outside of the classroom while also growing academically and professionally."
Underrated Detail About Davidson
Davidson has an essentially limitless number of career development opportunities, if you know how to access them. Through the Career Center, I've been able to obtain 3 fully funded multi-month internships, including one abroad, and several on-campus jobs.
