"Coming from a graduating class of eleven students in high school, I knew a small, liberal arts college was for me. I had a phenomenal campus tour guide who took the time after the tour to introduce me to her friends, show me her dorm room, and answer all my questions in greater depth. Her kindness in spending her free time with me and the way she interacted with other students solidified the unmatched culture at Davidson. Here, students are uniquely supportive and never hesitate to offer a helping hand. It is so inspiring how each student is heavily involved on campus and in the greater Davidson area. The Davidson community is truly my home!"
Favorite Class
COM 253: True Stories with Professor Ike Bailey. This course focused on both identifying and telling hard truths, particularly in journalism. Our final assignments involved telling the deepest truths about ourselves and our loved ones through writing, interviewing, research, and more. As a first-year student, I was initially very intimidated by this class, but decided to stick with it after expressing my hesitations to Prof. Bailey - and I'm SO glad I did! Each class period was incredibly captivating and encouraged me to critically think about notions I hadn't thought of before. It was wonderful to be excited about a class outside of my major and learn about concepts that can be applied to every day life.
