Bank of America Lecture-Dean Rusk: "U.S.-China Rivalry for Global Power

The Dean Rusk International Studies Program is pleased to announce that Nicholas Burns, U.S. Ambassador to China (2021-2025), will present the 2025 Bank of America Lecture.

Ambassador Burns will speak on “The U.S.–China Rivalry for Global Power,” a topic on which he has first-hand expertise, having served as the United States Ambassador to China from 2021 through January of 2025.  Amb. Burns has been decorated with the Presidential Distinguished Service Award for a career in American diplomacy that spanned over three decades, during which he served six presidents and nine secretaries of state from both parties. Since spring 2025, Burns has held the position of Roy and Barbara Goodman Family Professor of the Practice of Diplomacy and International Politics at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

The lecture is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Students, faculty and staff can secure tickets starting July 28th. Tickets will become available to the public Monday, September 1st.
