Audubon Magazine: Alumnus Crafts Beautiful Bird Playing Cards
Emmanuel Jose '06 has loved birds since growing up with pet myna birds in his childhood home in the Philippines. He has created art for almost as many years, and has devoted his working life to that pursuit for the past three years.
The New York-based artist recently combined his passions by designing and producing a deck of playing cards titled "Clipped Wings" that depicts all sorts of birds in all sorts of situations as accompaniment to the kings, queens and their numerical entourage. A story about his artistry, and a video and photo gallery of his creatively crafted birds-on-cards are offered in the current issue of Audubon Magazine.
